We are seeking a highly skilled Controls/Robotic Engineering manager to lead and mentor our dynamic team of engineers in developing/programming automation solutions. This is a management role that includes direct programming/project responsibility.

Wauseon Machine, a leader in custom automation and robotics, designs solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and safety for a wide variety of industries including medical, automotive, and consumer goods. Applications include assembly, dispensing, machine tending, material handling, palletizing, and more.

What You’ll Do..

• Lead approximately 10 Robotic and Controls Engineers who design and program PLCs, HMIs, and robots (MiR AMR and Fanuc) from concept through final machine acceptance.
• Provide guidance for both internal and external electrical concept and final design reviews.
• Resource planning, labor and material budgets, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor project execution performance metrics of software designs (schedule, budget, scope, risk, and customer satisfaction).
• Final documentation of both hardware and PLC and HMI programming per customer specifications/requirements.
• Coordinate the team’s travel to customer sites for installation and start-up support.

Qualifications We Seek..

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree.
• At least 8 years’ experience within the automation industry that includes supervisory and project leadership.
• Experience designing/programming PLCs, HMIs, and robots and integrating vision systems, lasers, etc.
• History of meeting or exceeding individual and department performance goals and objectives.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with a knack for building strong relationships internally and externally.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
