POSITION SUMMARY
Set up and operate saws and cut materials in the production of frames, trim and window sections in a safe and efficient manner.
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Set up and operate all saws to cut miters, compound miters and square cuts in a safe, quality focused and efficient manner.
· Update or mark out master print on each job for all parts cut.
· Set up saws to be used for all die sizes and shapes including the use of fixtures and blocking. Basic blocking should be made and set up by operator.
· Compliance with quality system requirements including first piece inspection of all parts and every five pieces after that on a typical run. Make adjustments as required to assure that all parts are within quality specifications. Understand and utilize the use of protractors, squares, tape measures, etc.
· Familiarization with dies and visual inspection of material quality before and after cutting.
· Notify supervisor and lead of part shortages or related problems as required.
· Perform simple maintenance on production equipment as necessary. Notify supervisor and lead when machines are not working properly.
· Adhere to established safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates.
· Adhere to established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Support Six Sigma/Lean and the continuous improvement process.
· Proficient use of computer systems and intranet functions.
· Undertake job responsibilities in a manner of consistent with the company’s Core Values.
· May be required to perform other company duties as needed and assist in other departments as requested.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to read and understand prints, die drawings and other supporting documentation.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner.
· Knowledge of window and curtainwall product and processes.
· Computer software proficiency (preferred but not required) in the following:
o CTO-Pro View
o Intranet
o ERP software (Epicor/MES)
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Work quickly and accurately..
