Horning Middle School is seeking an ELA and Math Teacher to be a part of a five person multi-grade house team (FLIGHT). The day would involve starting with advisory (homeroom for 20 minutes) and then teaching mixed 7th and 8th grade ELA classes, one 8th grade math class, and supervising an eAcheive (online) class. For Math we use we use Desmos as a curriculum and for ELA we use MyPerspectives as the curriculum.

The ideal candidate is interested in providing inclusive practices as a part of a team-oriented culture. This involves planning quality instruction, executing purposeful lessons, and evaluating student-learning outcomes to inform future instructional decisions. Candidates should also have a passion for modeling positive contributions to the school culture through high expectations and working in ample amounts of reading, writing, and discourse within the classroom.

Horning Middle School has a school-wide house model to meet the academic and social emotional needs of learners as well as having an Advisory each morning to connect with students. Horning also is a schoolwide AVID and PBIS school.
An interest in working with diverse students and families is required.
