Position Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment.
Minimum Education
Successful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications/License
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire) ; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required within 6 months of employment. Requires a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license upon hire. Handle with care is preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
1 year of experience in a health care setting is preferred.
