The Radiology Technologist II performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The Radiology Technologist II works under general supervision in performing a variety of diagnostic exams and procedures in both X-Ray and CT modalities, according to departmental protocol, as requested by the physician order.

Minimum Education Graduate from an Accredited Program in one or more medical imaging modalities as described below.

Minimum Work ExperiencePreferred - 1 years of experience as a registered technologist in the appropriate modality

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

X Basic Life Support (BLS)
X Certified/licensed in good standing with appropriate professional registry
Certified/licensed in good standing with appropriate professional registry:
* Radiologic Technologists - graduate of a JRCERT accredited program and ARRT Registered Technologist RT(R)
* CT: Must be RT (R) (CT) (Or become ARRT CT Registered within 12 mos. of hire)

The Radiologic Technologist II may also be registered in an additional modality. If so, the requirements listed below must be met for the specific modality.
* Mammography: Must be RT(R)(M) ( Or become ARRT Mammography Registered within 12 mos. of hire)
* MRI: Must be RT(R) (MR) ( Or become ARRT MRI Registered within 12 mos. of hire)
* Nuclear Medicine: Must be ARRT or NMTCB Registered Technologist upon hire
* Ultrasound: Must be RDMS.(Or a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program and RDMS examination eligible. Must become RDMS Registered within 12 months of hire, or within 18 months for new graduates)
