Position Summary:

The Medication Aide/ Certified Nursing Assistant assists with resident care throughout nursing areas under the direction of licensed personnel.

Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician. Determines and records effectiveness of medications. Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the facility, administered, and at change of shift. Stores medications in a safe and accurate manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Virginia State Medication Aide Certification

*Virginia State Certified Nursing Assistant or CNA licensure acquired within 90 days of employment.

*High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred

*Certifications:

oRequired: First Aid (First Aid certification is required within 60 days of employment.)

oPreferred: Basic Life Support (BLS)
