As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children. Your role will be to support the lead teacher in implementing educational activities and ensuring the well-being of the students.
Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum
- Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development
- Provide individualized attention and support to students with special needs, including those with autism or other developmental challenges
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with behavior management strategies to promote a safe and respectful learning environment
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns
- Help create a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management tasks, such as maintaining supplies and materials
Skills:
- Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or special education setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to work effectively with students with autism or other special needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
