Job Overview:

The Recreation Aide will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident’s individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful Candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 years experience working in a geriatric/adult population.
  • Must be a team player with a compassionate, outgoing, and pleasant personality.
  • Must be computer literate and possess strong organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complies with and interprets the philosophy, objectives, procedures, policies and code of ethics of the facility and the policies of the Recreational Therapy Department.
  • Documents Resident attendance/participation daily.
  • Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials.
  • Conduct therapeutic activities on and off-unit as scheduled.
  • Attend Resident trips outside of the facility as per assignment.
  • Develop, implement, and adapt therapeutic recreation program relevant to Resident’s needs and interests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.
