WasteXperts - an on-site waste and recycling facilitator - is looking for Waste Specialists to join our Reno, NV team!

In addition to on-site waste maintenance responsibilities, a Waste Specialist drives our company pick-up trucks and other non-CDL vehicles and equipment. We're looking for candidates who take pride in hard work, being a team player, and making a difference in our community.

Waste Specialist  Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a company vehicle working together with an waste tech to complete tasks on a scheduled route
- Report to shift and perform work daily with required personal protective equipment including but not limited to steel toe, puncture-resistant boots
- Safely utilize equipment and tools to complete work assignments (such as waste cadies, chute doors, tow hitches, compactors, ladders, etc.)
- Conduct weekly truck inspections and report any issues
- Service assigned properties on site by:

• Sorting trash, recycling, and compostable waste into appropriate containers
• Hauling bulky items off-site
• Manually compacting waste
• Sweeping/cleaning enclosures, trash rooms, and trash chute

- Manage daily route assignment by:

• Noting start and completion times
• Taking before/after photos of services performed
• Communicate with relevant departments to report/resolve issues and maintain a high-quality of service
• Submit appropriate paperwork as required to communicate notes and maintain route assignment

Driver Shifts:

• Full Time
• Monday - Friday, 3:30 AM Start
• Overtime as required

Waste Specialist  Qualifications and Physical Requirements: 

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years or more than 2 minor violations including handheld device in the last 3 years)
• Frequently lift items weighing 80 lbs.
• Push/maneuver dumpsters and compactors weighing in excess of 500 lbs.
• Stepping in/out of waste containers safely with the use of a ladder as well as climbing several flights of stairs
• Work independently to complete daily assignments
• Work well with others in a team environment
• Strong time management skills
