Washington University Department of Surgery is Hiring a Vascular Lab Technician-Surgery Near St. Louis, MO

Position Summary

Position provides high quality non-invasive vascular studies, assists physicians with diagnosis of vascular disease.

We are committed to providing our sonographers with continued education, clinical practice with a spectrum of patient diagnoses, and collaboration with the best in research and clinical care. Our Vascular Techs cover the lab and various locations and are responsible for providing services in emergent hospital situations and the ICUs.

Job Description

This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week with required call after hours and weekends.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a collaborative partner, demonstrates excellence by providing compassionate knowledgeable care during patient ultrasound diagnostic imaging and non-invasive tests.
  • Provides quality exams and concise preliminary reports to assure our nationally recognized physicians obtain objective and reliable assessments for many types of vascular problems.
  • Provides key ultrasound education and instruction to visiting students, residents and hires to further our advancement in medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or recent noninvasive vascular lab experience.
  • If new graduate, completion of a Vascular Lab clinical rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • (RVT) – Registered Vascular Technologist or (RVS) Registered Vascular Specialist or graduate from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • ARDMS R.V.T. or CCI R.V.S. credentials within one year of employment. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.).

Salary Range$32.08 - $49.73 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
