Community Health Liaison Position Summary:
The Community Health Liaison (CHL) will be an outgoing, high-energy, culturally sensitive community member providing evidence-based information, health education and counseling, and diagnostic testing for various sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis. CHLs will support clients that represent diverse communities, including LGBTQ , people of color (e.g., Black, Latino/a, African/Caribbean descent, Asian), non-English speakers, and individuals that present with behavioral vulnerabilities, sexual health concerns, depression, anxiety, substance (ab)use, poverty, housing instability, and various traumas.
The CHL will report to the Early Intervention Service and Syndemic Program coordinators regarding the following primary responsibilities:
· Perform comprehensive HIV and STI testing services with accuracy, confidentiality, and protocol adherence.
· Deliver engaging sexual health education to diverse community members utilizing evidence-based approaches and culturally sensitive techniques.
· Proactively identify and establish partnerships with community stakeholders, fostering collaborations to enhance outreach and promote sexual health initiatives.
· Increase PrEP awareness and knowledge in targeted communities and assist community members with initiating PrEP.
· Assist in healthcare navigation for WHI Clinic Red Carpet Service initiation (treatment and/or prevention).
· Create compelling and relevant content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and dating apps, to engage and increase patient engagement/recruitment.
· Collaborate with team members to develop strategic initiatives and campaigns to increase social media engagement and brand visibility.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:

· Cultural sensitivity, especially to LGBTQ , people of color, and non-English speaking community members

· Passion for serving marginalized/unserved communities to improve health and quality of life.
· Intermediate computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Canva
· Proficiency in navigating and leveraging the unique features of social media outlets, staying updated on trends and algorithms to optimize content performance and reach.
· Bilingual communication (English and Spanish; written and verbal) preferred.
Required Experience and Education:
· A high school diploma or GED is required. Preference will be given to individuals with a state-recognized certification in community health work or phlebotomy.
· Experience working with racial minorities and LGBTQ community members.
