Salary: $4,174.00 - $5,615.00 Monthly

Responsibilities (see listing for full details):

  • Oversees the recruitment and interviewing process for permanent and seasonal crew staffing to provide recommendations for hire. Takes the lead for inventorying, ordering, and storage of all assigned equipment and gear for the Lacamas Hand Crew.
  • Under the guidance of the Pacific Cascade District Manager, coordinates, prepares, and/or provides all required onboarding training for direct and indirect reports, and seasonal staff’s mid- and end-of-season evaluations. Addresses unit-related personnel issues and resolves them at the appropriate level and/or recommends disciplinary action as needed.
  • Review/approve employee time and activity reports, all mileage equipment recording logs, and maintenance logs for accuracy. The position is responsible for accurately completing and submitting Time and Activity Reports (TARs), Mileage Equipment Reports (MERs), credit card logs, Daily Vehicle Inspections, and Daily Activity Log. Required to submit individual, crew, and equipment documents on time.
  • Assist with providing supervision and oversight for staff in fire suppression at the unit level. Protects human life and natural resources on department-protected lands while minimizing resource loss and fire costs. Suppression duties in the local unit can vary from acting as initial attack Incident Commander (IC), generating transition plans for incoming ICs or teams, and attending Agency Representative meetings. Establishes Unified Command and works cooperatively with other fire protection authorities when working on joint jurisdiction fires.

Required Qualifications (see listing for full details):

  • Wildland fire suppression experience.
  • Certified as a NWCG Single Resource Boss-Crew Boss or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience in agreement and contract negotiations.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,088.00 - $67,380.00 per year
