Washington County Home is Hiring a Social Services Worker 2 Near Marietta, OH
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Applicant must have a baccalaureate degree in social work or a social work-related field such as psychology, sociology, counseling, criminal justice, or another related field as determined by the employer.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to work with various types of social service programs; able to make clear and concise decisions regarding various actions that may be needed, able to problem solve with individuals, face to face interviews, deal with public and human relations/issues, deal w/adverse conditions, complete office practices and procedures correctly and timely; willing and able to work under pressure to meet required deadlines; able to carry out oral and written instructions, complete social services eligibility determinations for a number of programs; able to work closely with and establish rapport with clients, providers, their families and colleagues.
- Must be able to complete required weekly home/field calls, have a current Ohio Driver’s license and vehicle insurance, as required by Motor Vehicle Policy.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
- Determine eligibility for all unit programs, to include Adult Protective Services under ORC 5101.60-70, Title XX Programs for in-home services: include chore, protective, case management and special programs; Child Care Program; determine eligibility for child care for children under Ohio’s comprehensive child care program, certify child care providers, train child care providers and assure that they and their homes meet the State of Ohio requirements
- Maintain and update lists of certified providers and assure that redetermination for all programs are done in a timely fashion
- Adult Protective Services statutes: documenting case files, investigating reports, preparation for involvement in Probate Court action, and being “on call” on off-duty hours.
- Will need to be able to utilize Child Care and OIES computer systems, complete database maintenance, input inquiries, maintain dictation timely and other duties as assigned.
