Immediate opening for a Production Supervisor, 3rd Shift in Los Angeles, CA who possesses: 

  • Experience operating a variety of production equipment 

  • Previous experience supervising a team of at least 10

  • Previous food manufacturing environment experience - 2 yrs.

  • Bilingual in Spanish required

  • MS Office Suites - Proficient with Outlook and Excel

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the manufacturing of fresh baked products in a timely, clean and safe working environment. The Production Supervisor ensures that production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinates and plans the weekly labor schedule with the Production Manager based on head count and production volume.

2. Responsible for managing employees time and attendance record through ADP, and reports consistent violations to management

3. In conjunction with quality assurance staff, inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications.

4. Directs employees in adjusting machines, equipment and work processes to ensure product specifications are met.

5. Enforces policies and procedures, works with Human Recourses in any employee related issues. Develops, recommends and implements changes in working conditions of equipment.

6. Measures and improves production methods, equipment performance, efficiency, employee performance and product.

7. Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.

8. Plans and resolves work problems and Conducts monthly safety meetings and submits employee recommendations to management staff.

9. Maintains production records and verifies that subordinates are documenting appropriate paperwork for the shift.

10. Completes duties, and ensures that subordinates complete their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, GMPs, safety and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.

11. Participates as an active member of production management team.

JOB DUTIES

· Assign Associates to appropriate food work area, and/or equipment based on production and shift requirements. In the absence of the Dept Manager monitor shift operations and productivity.

· Actively work to resolve problems with team members raised and communicate with your manager for support.

· Give positive feedback and coach employees to help build their confidence and provide constructive criticism to develop their skills.

· Train and act as a resource to Associates on equipment and processes.

· Prepare and/or assemble batches to recipe specifications meeting health and safety standards. Ensure that health and safety standards are met.

· Operate a variety of production equipment.

· Demonstrates knowledge of batch preparation, mixing, assembly, and packaging product methods and processes.

· Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's), quality and proper documentation of processes.

· In coordination with the Dept Manager accounts for the productivity of the employees, identifies issues with product or equipment, escalates matters to the Manager.

· Responsible for accounting for accurate inventory levels, production reports, and personal breaks and lunches

· Responsible to review production schedule daily so that you could prepare/ provide all raw material needed for production ie; bags labels, masters, heat treated pallets, pallets, raw ingredients with anticipated time.

· Exercises appropriate judgment and discretion, gives work assignments to team members.

· Oversee shift operational performance for assigned work area.

· Follows all health and safety standards and enforces use of PPE's.

SKILLS

• Must demonstrate the ability to Lead the work of other employees, assign duties and manage

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software, Excel spreadsheet software and Outlook email software. Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing software helpful

• Workflow / production for a shift in the absence of the department lead

• Ability to operate a variety of production equipment

• Ability to work routine and monotonous processes and stand for extended periods of time

• Must have a good understanding of English, bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills a plus

• Able to change work schedule as per company needs

• Food background would be a plus

REQUIREMENTS

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum two to three years experience within a food-processing environment. Ability to read and/or prepare production, inventory and other reports.

3. Certified forklift operator.

5. Must be available to work extended hours with little or no notification to handle physical inventory and other special projects. Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

6. Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. with frequent bending, stooping and reaching for the purpose of assembling line or other processing equipment, performing physical inspections of warehouse and production areas.

Salary: $75,000-$83,000/yr.
