Wasatch Fab and Machine, LLC is Hiring a TIG Welder / Fitter / Fabricator (Salt Lake) Near Salt Lake, UT

Job Description

The current job posting is for a TIG Welder. The position is full-time day shift (Mon-Thur 6:00 am-4:30 pm). Wage is negotiable and depends on experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Read and understand fabrication drawings
  • Layout materials dimensionally, assemble the parts as a fit up and prep for welding
  • Perform welding to the highest standards of AWS and customer requirements
  • Finish the assembly as required
  • Perform repetitive welding operations on standard weldments following prescribed procedures
  • Work from part drawings, sketches, templates, and patterns
  • Work with in-process and final inspection and testing
  • Complete necessary paperwork to track parts through process
  • Ability to operate pneumatic hand grinders, basic hand tools, overhead crane, welders, pedestal grinders, resistance welder, vise clamps and drills
  • Experience with welding all sorts of materials, mostly metal objects
  • Have in-depth knowledge of GTAW and other welding practices and equipment
  • Responsible for welding complex assemblies that meet customer specifications
  • Set up weld fixtures and tooling fixtures to prepare to weld complex assemblies

Candidates must have all the required tools, clothing, and aptitude to assure a quality product for our customers. This includes knowledge of proper weld techniques and symbols, weld machine settings, oxy-acetylene torch and plasma cutting, grinding, and other skills as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the fabrication industry
  • Be able to pass a variety of weld tests
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Able to use advanced math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and work with fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Able to be weld-certified projects
  • Able to communicate verbally or in writing with other employees, team members and supervision, as necessary
  • Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions and/or directions
  • Provide verification of employment within the last 3 years with job references
  • Experience in MIG and TIG welding preferred
