Your role as a Childcare Specialist

Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Childcare Specialist, where you will play a vital role in providing child care services within a therapeutic child care setting for children of caregivers enrolled in non-residential substance use treatment programs. Your responsibilities will include maintaining organization in clinic systems, creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children, and collaborating with program staff to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and interact with community agencies, the court system, and various public agencies to ensure the best possible care for the children in need.

What you need to be successful

To excel as a Childcare Specialist at Wasatch Behavioral Health, candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with one year of post-high school education in social work, psychology, or a related field. While having one year of general work experience is preferred, it is not required. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills to maintain clinic systems efficiently and create a hazard-free environment for the children.

Effective communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for collaborating with program staff and interacting with community agencies, the court system, and various public agencies. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High school diploma or GED and one (1) year post high school education in social work

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
