Warsaw Community Schools is Hiring a Medical Assistant to the Nurse Coordinator Near Warsaw, IN
Reports to: Nurse Coordinator/School Principal General Summary: To assist the Nurse Coordinator/School Nurses in carrying out the Health Services Program efficiently and thoroughly, thereby minimizing absence due to illness. Essential Functions
Assists the Nurse Coordinator/School Nurses in coordinating the Health Services Program
Performs First Aid and notifies parents, if necessary
Records illnesses and injuries on SchoolCare EHR: completes accident reports as appropriate
Records screening results on SchoolCare as directed by the Nurse Coordinator
Delivers medication to students once they have completed training by the Nurse Coordinator
Maintains inventory of medical supplies
Files student health-related notes
Informs the Principal/Nurse Coordinator of unusual situations
Performs other reasonably related duties as directed by the Nurse Coordinator
Knowledge And Ability
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities to meet deadlines under time constraints
Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to express ideas,
thoughts and instruction clearly to staff, patrons, and students
Must comply with relevant state and federal laws, including reporting of child abuse and neglect. Maintains confidentiality
Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, including but not limited to, management principles and practices, conflict resolution, team building with staff
Ability to collaborate effectively on inter- and intra-agency levels
Knowledge and experience with computer software and systems
Exhibits patience, courtesy, respect, ethical conduct, and tact when dealing with all people
Ability to drive a car
QualificationsRequired:
Education – High School Diploma/GED
Certification in CPR and First Aid
Desired
Health Services background (CNA or CMA preferred)
Student/people oriented
