GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION |
As a Transportation Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of sales operations within the transportation industry. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth by developing and implementing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and nurturing existing client relationships. You will lead a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, support, and motivation to achieve sales targets and objectives. |
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in the transportation sector. |
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and prospecting. |
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and providing customized transportation solutions. |
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. |
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction. |
Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization of sales strategies. |
Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to senior management. |
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to remain competitive in the transportation market. |
Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure profitable business partnerships. |
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and generate leads. |
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES |
Strong understanding of the transportation and fuel industry, including logistics, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance. |
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. |
Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. |
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. |
Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a proactive approach. |
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. |
Proficiency in sales CRM software and Microsoft Office suite. |
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends. |
Strong negotiation and decision-making skills. |
Willingness to travel as needed. |
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & TRAINING |
Proven experience in transportation and fuel sales, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or leadership role or commensurate experience. |
