Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Opening Manager to join our team at a fast casual restaurant. As the Opening Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant during the opening shift. You will be responsible for managing the staff, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring exceptional customer service, with a specific focus on the drive-thru, dine in, and take-out operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering an outstanding dining experience.
Responsibilities:
  1. Opening Operations: Oversee and manage all aspects of the restaurant's opening shift, including setting up the restaurant, preparing the kitchen and service areas, and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for service.
  2. Staff Management: Train, supervise, and motivate the opening staff, including drive-thru attendants and kitchen staff. Delegate responsibilities effectively and ensure that all team members are working together efficiently.
  3. Drive-Thru and Take-Out Operations: Ensure efficient and smooth operations for the drive-thru and take-out services. Monitor order accuracy, speed of service, and customer satisfaction. Address any issues promptly and implement strategies to enhance the drive-thru and take-out experience.
  4. Customer Service: Ensure that the highest level of customer service is provided at all times, particularly during the drive-thru and dine in interactions. Lead by example, interact with customers, and handle any customer inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
  5. Shift Coordination: Coordinate and organize the opening shift schedule, ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet operational needs for both the front of the house and the kitchen. Monitor and adjust staffing as necessary to ensure optimal efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  6. Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards for food preparation, presentation, and overall cleanliness. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health codes, and restaurant policies.
  7. Inventory and Supplies: Monitor food waste levels and collaborate with the management team to keep track of food, beverages, and other necessary supplies. Keep track of inventory usage and minimize waste to control costs effectively.
  8. Training and Development: Provide training to new team members and ongoing coaching to existing staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent adherence to restaurant procedures and standards.
  9. Opening Procedures: Execute opening procedures accurately, including cash handling, reconciling sales, and securing the premises to safeguard the restaurant's assets.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a managerial role within the food service industry, preferably in a fast casual restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in managing opening restaurant operations.
