SCHEDULE - BRIARWOOD ELEMENTARY

Program Times: 8:30AM – 12:30PM
Teacher Times: 8:00AM – 1:00PM

RATE OF PAY

$50 Per Hour
4 hours of instruction each day, plus one hour each day for preparations.
Plus additional hours for set up prior to camp & compensation for mandatory training session

ENDORSEMENT

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and/or
Early Childhood Endorsement

SUMMARY:

The Summer Scholars program is an instructional school-based program targeting Literacy and Math intervention for students entering Grades 1-5. Students will be engaged in comprehensive and meaningful literacy and math instruction using evidence based practices to address their individual needs. The goal of the Summer Scholars program is to strengthen Literacy and Math achievement.

Staffing Information:

• Teachers must complete mandatory training. Participants will be compensated for their time in training.
  • Literacy: Date TBD
  • Math Training:Date TBD
• Teachers will be compensated up to 4 instructional hours a day
• Teachers will be compensated up to 1 hour a day for prep time
• Teachers will be compensated up to a total of 4 hours for set up prior to start of camp
• Substitutes will not be provided
• There will be approximately 15 students per class

Teachers will be responsible for:

• Provide effective instructional methods based on a daily schedule outlined in training
• Administer pre and post assessments and submit to district Title I Summer Facilitator
• Submit attendance records via PARs weekly
• Plan appropriate instruction to support diverse student needs
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Exemplary experience in teaching elementary literacy and mathematics
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage students
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive professionals with a growth mindset
• Preferred participation in a Number Talks and/or AVMR training at the Macomb ISD
