Yard Attendant/ Class C Driver - Livermore Falls

Ware-Butler Building Supply is seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Attendant/Class C Driver to join our dynamic team in Livermore Falls. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintain the organization and cleanliness of the yard, as well as providing prompt, courteous service to customers in the yard by assisting in selection and loading and loading of materials. Additionally, this role will also safely build and stage materials for delivery at the direction of the Yard Foreman or Store Manager and delivering to customer sites in a safe and timely manner.. This position will require cooperation with all supervisory staff, other delivery drivers, and store personnel. Hourly pay based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Follow all company policies and safety standards.
• Organize and maintain inventory in the yard.
• Assist pick-up customers in the yard in a prompt, professional manner.
• Pick quality merchandise for delivery customers and build delivery loads.
• Perform vehicle safety inspections.
• Load or inspects loads to ensure no unsafe vehicle leaves the yard.
• Checks load for picking accuracy and corrects errors as needed.
• May deliver and unload product to customer expectation by following written directions and instructions and by verbal communication on the job site.
• Contribute efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work space.
• Reports damage to equipment, inventory, or property to immediate supervisor the day it occurs.
• Perform tasks deemed necessary by supervisory staff.

Requirements:

• Possess a valid state drivers license with a clean driving record for 3 years.
• Have quality customer service skills.
• Ability to respond to hazards while driving.
• Ability to read, understand, and act upon written language.
• Ability to perform basic math; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to repeatedly lift objects up to 50 lbs on their own or with assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist repeatedly throughout the work day.

Working Conditions:

This position is performed in an open warehouse and out in the elements.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
