• Saturday AND Sunday – 8pm - 8am
• Monday and Tuesday - 12midnight - 8am

Trained Medication Employee (TME) required.

Our Direct Support Professionals provide supportive personal care and companionship services to our persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. On weekends (dependent upon local COVID-19 restrictions, weather, etc.) you can look forward to spending time in the community helping your supported person to achieve goals while having a great time!

As a DSP you will coach, supervise, monitor, and assist our persons with daily activities such as shopping, meal preparation, entertainment, medical/lab appointments, financial management, physical fitness and recreation, community access and relationship building, emotion management and coping skills, and helping to maintain a healthy home environment.

To qualify for the Direct Support Professional:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with medically-fragile individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities required.
• Minimum of 21 years of age and a High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Ability to pass DC Department of Health (DOH) Fingerprinting and Background Check.
• Must submit a Health Certificate (physical and Tuberculosis clearance) indicating fitness for employment.
• Applicants with TME (Trained Medication Employee) certification receive preference.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written communication form.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and use proactive strategies to deliver quality services.
• Computer proficiency (i.e. MS Office).

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• First Aid and CPR certified
• Food Sanitation License
• Valid state-issued identification (Driver’s License, Non Driver’s License)

Pay: $24.38 - $29.36 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Every weekend
• Night shift
• Overnight shift
