Wannamaker Crimmigration, LLC is Hiring a Criminal Law Paralegal Near El Paso, TX

Position Summary

The Criminal Law Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in a fast-paced criminal law practice. This role involves assisting with case management, legal research, document preparation, and client communication. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of criminal law procedures, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to criminal law matters.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and subpoenas.
  • Organize and maintain case files, including evidence, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in criminal cases to gather information and schedule appointments.
  • Assist in drafting and filing legal documents with courts and administrative agencies.
  • Prepare and coordinate trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks for court proceedings.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, court personnel, and other legal professionals as needed.
  • Assist attorneys during court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencing.
  • Review and summarize deposition transcripts, police reports, and other discovery materials.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure timely completion of case preparation and court filing tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong skill level in MS Office Suite/Google Suite, including Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.

Other Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all essential duties and physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience

  • An associate degree in paralegal studies, a related field, or equivalent related experience is required.
  • A Experience in Paralegal experience or legal assistant is required.
  • A paralegal certificate is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience working as a paralegal in criminal law or a related practice area is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of criminal law procedures, legal terminology, and court rules.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
