Wanda’s Little Hands provides summer learning activities for children Ages 3-school age. We are looking for FOUR experienced teachers who have skills and knowledge to creatively engage children. Two teacher is needed for ages three, one teacher for ages four-five, and one teacher with experience teaching school age students grades K-2nd.

Each teacher will be responsible for preparing and implementing daily educational lesson plans according to DCDEE standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate and excited to create a fun, out of the box, and engaging learning environment as they guide children to learn while having fun! The teacher must be patient and understanding while making learning an easy and meaningful process. The goal is to engage the children in a learning environment and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Present lessons in a comprehensive and developmental appropriate manner.
• Assess student learning and provide daily feedback to Site Coordinator.
• Maintain a tidy and orderly environment.
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events.

Skills

• Proven experience as a teacher, or working with children or school age students
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices.

• Strong moral values and discipline.
• CDA, Associates or Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent
