Job Overview:
Respected Los Angeles family law firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney with at least five years of litigation experience. Applicant must have mastered discovery and evidence rules and have superior writing and research skills. Applicant must be able to manage a complex case, be hard-working, and work well with others. Graduation from a top tier ABA-accredited law school is a plus. Top academic credentials and strong analytical skills required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs
- Assist with case management and preparation for litigation
- Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions
- Attend court hearings and depositions as required
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong research and writing skills
- Proficiency in legal drafting and analysis
- Experience with Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw research platforms
- Ability to negotiate effectively and communicate complex legal concepts clearly
- Prior experience in litigation is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
