Waltonen is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near Warren, MI

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities​​

  • Work under the guidance of Waltonen Chief Engineer
  • Develop designs for subsystems, components, and mounting provisions for various devices.
  • Design subsystems and components related to hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, shock isolation to meet vehicle requirements
  • Perform analysis of design and be able to apply engineering judgment in material selection, welding, and fabrication for mechanical components and complex welded brackets, mounting provisions
  • Create drawing mark-ups, conduct tolerance stack analysis, and generate source data for engineering changes
  • Provide technical support during prototype and production vehicle builds
  • Work closely with Waltonen’s Design & Engineering teams to create impactful solutions for military vehicles
  • Leverage expertise to enhance vehicle performance, durability, and safety in defense applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, mechanisms, and shock isolation
  • Experience with design, integration, and analysis of mechanical components and mechanisms 
  • Understanding of the mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication methods for mechanical components and complex welded structures
  • Solid understanding of CAD software
  • Only United States Citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain security clearance
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in vehicle components and/or systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with NX or Creo 3D CAD Software
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter
  • Proficiency with VisMockup
  • Experience with defense/military vehicles (highly preferred).
