ABOUT THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM
The Walters Art Museum is among America’s most distinctive museums, forging connections between people and art from cultures around the world and spanning seven millennia. Located in Baltimore’s Mount Vernon neighborhood, the Walters is free for all. The museum’s campus includes five historic buildings and 36,000 art objects.

Overview of Role
The Monitor Room Officer provides a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff, as well as the art collection, by monitoring the activities in the museum. The Monitor Room Officer will report hazards such as fire, theft, vandalism, trespassing, disorderly conduct, etc., maintain order, and enforce the policies and procedures of the Walters Art Museum.

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week; Wednesday-Sunday, or as required by circumstances and special events). The Monitor Room Officer’s weekly schedule is Wednesday-Sunday 12am-8am. Must be flexible to work overtime as essential personnel. Essential personnel remain on duty and on site until properly relieved.

All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The museum does not sponsor work visas. The position is classified as Non-Exempt Status (eligible for overtime pay) and is in a bargaining unit represented by a union.
