Manufacturing Supervisor

Walter USA, LLC is a leader in offering an ever-expanding product line of high-end quality end mills and other cutting tools such as new countersinks, drills, thread mills and other high performance specialty tools.

We are a growing producer of cutting tools used in metalworking for end mills and drills.

Key Performance Areas

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing 25 hourly employees and our 24 / 7 CNC production operations.

You will focus primarily on the safety of employees and safely producing high quality products in line with established production standards and targets.

Responsibilities

• Providing leadership through team building, planning, and setting key deliverables.
• Interfacing with planners, leaders, and CNC machinists to assist in continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety of employees during and between shifts; direct efforts of all Production and QA employees per shift; document and communicate performance feedback to employees both positive and constructive.
• Provide and document ongoing training and development for employees.
• Verify all raw materials, labeling, equipment set up, tools, production orders and labor are ready for the current and upcoming runs.
• Monitor and follow environmental monitoring and reporting procedures within designated response times.
• Work with employees and other departments to continuously improve processes, products, and safety; reduce costs through innovation based on historical product data.
• Troubleshoot high-level issues with Key Operators, Maintenance personnel or Management.
• Communicate daily with employees regarding safety, current issues, corrective actions, future plans and past performance (KPI’s) through the Lean Daily Management (LDM) boards and meetings.
• Review production schedule and make employees are assigned to appropriate job tasks; address adjustments to schedule; communicate adjustments to others as needed;

monitor operating performances of equipment contact maintenance for needed repairs, adjustments, or troubleshooting.

Prepare all necessary paperwork and record keeping for all shifts; communicate with the off-going shift before starting a new shift and with the on-coming shift at the end of shift.

Your Profile

• Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Minimum of Associates degree and / or equivalent education / experience preferred.
• Must be technologically savvy.
• Working experience in Lean and 5S experience.
• CNC machining and precision machining experience.
