What you'll do... Position: Staff Software Engineer Job Location: 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72716 Telecommuting/working from home anywhere within the United States is permissible. Duties: Solve highly scalable, reliable and performance challenges in cloud platforms. Write code that is testable and readable, pays down technical debt, and improves the reliability, latency, availability, and scalability of Walmart e-commerce/Retail and Enterprise products. Develop and support Walmart’s massive Kubernetes platform across public, private and edge computing environments. Build and improve our Kubernetes multi-cluster deployment product. Drive the team towards building a highly scalable and performing Container platform. Troubleshoot business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; directing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation. Consult in the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, Web Operations, project management, business and user experience teams. Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in a large scale enterprise software development environment; OR a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field and 6 years of experience in a large scale enterprise software development environment. Skills required: Experience with Containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes. Experience administrating and log monitoring Logging platforms including Logstash, Elasticsearch and Kibana. Experience with monitoring, metrics, and observability Platform including Prometheus and Grafana. Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins. Experience with Data Services including Cassandra and Kafka. Experience automating deployments and using Python and Bash. Experience with Configuration Management tools including Ansible. Experience with site reliability engineering and load balancing. Experience with streaming platforms including Kafka. Experience with VPN, load balancers, TCP/IP, SSH, Telnet, HTTP, Netstat, and UDP. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $110,032/year to $230,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
