Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Produce Associate to join our team. As a Produce Associate, you will be responsible for packaging and organizing produce items, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and appearance of the produce department.
Duties:
- Package and label various types of produce items
- Ensure all produce is properly displayed and stocked
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and purchases
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including removing any damaged or expired products
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of produce, checking for quality and freshness
- Assist with inventory management, including rotating stock and conducting regular stock counts
- Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately
- Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals and targets
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating quantities
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures is an asset
- Strong sales skills to promote products and upsell to customers
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain a well-stocked and visually appealing department
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, as it allows for effective communication with diverse customers
- Ability to lift heavy objects, such as crates of produce, on a regular basis
- Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively
- Willingness to learn about different types of produce and stay updated on industry trends
