Keen Transport is seeking an Painter for 2nd Shift at our League City, TX facility!

Keen Transport, inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Painter within the Assembly department at our League City, TX facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to complete assigned work within the time and quality limits established. The employee also recognizes their responsibility to adhere to all the safety rules regarding the use of PPE including the wearing of respirators, safety toed work shoes or any other safety equipment deemed necessary. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Experience with electrostatic, airless, and pressure pot painting equipment applying various enamel and urethane paints.
• Must be able to distinguish between different types of paints and primers, and know which surfaces to apply them to.
• Must be able to apply/mix/store paint safely and according to company specifications and OSHA safety regulations.
• Must be able to conduct assigned work while properly wearing a respirator.
• Must pass PFT for respirator use as specified by OSHA.
• Ability to disassemble limited parts of machinery for painting
• Able to prepare all surfaces for painting through taping, body work, sanding, etc. 
• Understand the decaling process and ability to apply with limited supervision.
• Understanding, compliance and ability to inform co-workers of safety equipment and procedures
• Ability to properly dispose of hazardous waste which is generated.
• Use of equipment and hand tools including but not limited to: saws, drill press, grinder, sander, drills, wrenches, steam cleaners, wash systems, etc
•  Capable of operating heavy construction equipment and lift trucks.
• Must have the capability to properly supervise helpers assigned to assist with job completion.
• Must be able to follow the instructions of a supervisor to complete any assigned duty.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver's license
• High School diploma and demonstrated ability to interpret MSDS, with ability to follow specific orders
• Frequent lifts and carrying of up to 50 pounds for distances of 50 feet, including overhead lifting
• Climbing to and working at heights of up to 15 feet
• Completing a full workday walking and/or standing
• Pushing and pulling heavy material handling equipment such as floor cranes or jacks, and engaging in activities such as rolling tires or moving oak blocking.
• Sufficient hand dexterity and strength to fasten, insert, and remove bolts, machine parts and pins of various sizes and weights and to operate and withstand the impact and vibration of electric and air-powered power tools.
• Capable of work outside in all reasonable weather conditions
• Working in an environment with solvents, paints, fumes, and vapors
• Conduct work responsibilities while exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes from the operation of construction equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Maintain regular attendance as may be required for the position.
• Must pass post-offer drug screen and background check as a condition of hire.
