Summary of position:
Walker, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization supporting at-risk youth, their families, and communities through therapeutic and educational programs. Founded in 1961, programs include an array of residential, learning, and counseling services. The Advancement Department partners with a caring community of donors and volunteers through a variety of fundraising events and initiatives.
The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for maintaining systems and performing tasks related to fundraising stewardship and database management including gift processing and financial reconciliation. The Annual Fund Manager will also perform annual stewardship projects to engage and recognize donors which include newsletter and other email blasts, the annual report, and direct mail. This position will utilize data analytics, generate comprehensive reports, and aid all fundraising initiatives. The Annual Fund Manager supports ongoing strategic fundraising efforts and contributes to quality, compliance, and consistency within department practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Licensure:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
Skills & Qualifications:
1. 2 years fundraising experience and/or a development not-for-profit office demonstrating position requirements
2. Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously
3. Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Positive relationship management skills and the ability to connect with donors and other stakeholders
6. Strong attention to detail
7. Database experience, promotional writing, and creative formatting skills a plus
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to respond to and follow through with requests quickly and professionally
2. Must be able to sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time, consistent with OSHA standards
3. Must have the ability to access different building locations, initiative/event locations, equipment, mailboxes, kitchen, etc.
4. Must have the ability to lift packages up to 15 pounds
5. Must have access to transportation to/from initiative or event locations outside of office location
6. Must have the ability to order, pick-up, and deliver supplies for initiatives/events as needed
