Walker Building Group, LLC (WBG) was founded in 2003. The management of WBG has in excess of 200 years of combined experience building public infrastructure projects. Our office is in the heart of Nashville. We maintain a comprehensive staff of full-time salaried employees and we carry all of the appropriate license classifications to perform a variety of utility work. We have the equipment, capacity, training, experience and skill set needed to deliver a vast array of infrastructure projects.

EQUIPMENT
Walker Building Group, LLC owns and operates a wide variety of equipment ranging from pickup trucks to wheel loaders. We also have an outstanding relationship with our rental equipment partners. With our internally-owned equipment coupled with our rental relationships, we feel that we have more than adequate access to any equipment needed for our projects.
A Heavy Equipment Operator at Walker Building Group, LLC works primarily on the excavator to dig and remove rock and soil but may also be responsible for operating related machinery such as forklifts, backhoes, and skid steers.
Purpose of the Job
Laborer job duties are continually changing depending on the requirements of each project. Laborers are expected to assist in the general operations of each job site.
The essential duties of the job are:
· Perform setup and clean up tasks at job site, including removal of debris
· Use hand shovels and rakes to perform groundwork.
· Loading and unloading of materials.
· Places and moves equipment and materials.
· May cut concrete with saw as needed to finish grades.
· Removes and replaces sewer/manholes/sump castings and covers in the ground.
· Assists the Pipe Layer with grading tasks as needed.
· Assist in set up or removal of traffic control devices and flagging traffic as needed.
· May operate equipment as needed if trained, including skid steer and other equipment.
· Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment; ensures that tools, equipment, and materials are stored
properly and securely.
· Identify, report and correct hazards.
· Performs other laborer duties as required.
· Must understand and comply with all WBG safety policies and procedures
· Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus
· Ability to read and follow plans
· Must be able to read and use a tape measure
· Experience with power tools a plus
· Must be able to follow verbal instructions
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
This position has no supervision responsibilities.
While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, extreme cold, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required. Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Expected Hours of Work
Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 4:00 pm. This position may frequently be required to work overtime.
Travel
No out of town travel is required for this position.
