Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our client and their employees. This is a critical role in our organization, as you will play a key part in maintaining client satisfaction by ensuring accurate and timely processing of the payroll.

Responsibilities

- Process payroll for client using our payroll software.
- Calculate and process wage adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related payments
- Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Generate reports on payroll expenses, taxes, and deductions
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation

Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in analyzing financial data and performing complex calculations
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax principles
- Experience with payroll software
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
