The Assistant Program Director, reports to the Assistance Vice President of Program Development and Training and is responsible for programming and training on the inpatient units. The Assistant Program Director will assist with day to day operations of the inpatient units as well as serve as an individual resource for identified patients when recommended by the patient’s treatment team.

Hours: Full-Time

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating seven day a week patient coverage on inpatient units, inclusive of managing vacation schedules, sick calls, and per diem staff;
  • Working collaboratively with Clinical Director and Assistant Vice President of Program Development and Training to enhance programming on inpatient units;
  • Provides clinical coverage for three (3) patients and two groups per week to a varied and changing population on the inpatient units;
  • Participating in daily treatment teams and communicates daily with members of the treatment teams on patient progress and challenges;
  • Coordinates the programs internship programs, directly interfacing with selected schools and facilitating screening, supervision and training
  • Representing clinician group internally and externally, as agreed upon with the Assistant VP of Program Development and Training;
  • Teaching clinical skills and therapeutic content to students, interns, and program staff as needed;
  • Documenting all client encounters and progress, completing necessary reports, and maintaining up-to-date client files.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in behavioral health with 3 or more years of inpatient experience
  • PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMHC
  • Competence in providing and training on clinical care in both individual and group modality in a mental health setting, preferably in an eating disorder or inpatient psychiatric setting
  • A clear ability to work as a member of ta team in a fast paced mental health setting, including supervisory responsibility
  • Demonstrated capacity to make sound clinical decisions and manage crises
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, including individual and group treatment modalities
  • Crisis management skills, and group intervention skills with clients
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
