Wake Forest is Hiring a Pharmacist PRN, Care Connections & Inpatient Near North Wilkesboro, NC

JOB DESCRIPTION: This PRN pharmacist position will work closely with patients, technicians, nurses, and medical staff to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to retail and acute care areas. The pharmacist will be responsible for entering prescriptions, order verification, product checking, patient counseling, oversight of technical staff, serving as a drug information resource for patients, nurses, and medical staff, and providing clinical pharmacy services to the patients served. This individual will be cross-trained to multiple inpatient/outpatient pharmacy areas on multiple shifts.

How You’ll Impact Patient care:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses.
  • Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization.
  • Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork.
  • Continuously update and document skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Set personal goals to support departmental objectives.
  • Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines.
  • Foster a cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

What You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required.
  • Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.
