Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) Position is NOT available for a Hybrid Telework workweek

POSITION PURPOSE:

Assists with operations and service delivery of Project Enlightenment’s comprehensive programs. Serves as a liaison between the Project Enlightenment director and staff regarding logistical and technical issues. Assists the director with management of grants, budgets, accounting, purchasing, contracts, and facilities as assigned by the Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Microsoft Word and Excel; Knowledge of Oracle;
  • Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, and contracting;
  • Effective time management skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to calmly route concerns to appropriate staff;
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision;
  • Ability to organize and coordinate a variety of responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and within guidelines including management of multiple calendars and deadlines;
  • Ability to supervise non-certified staff;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education or administrative discipline;
  • Minimum of five years of experience in management.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • NC Department of Public Instruction licensure;
  • Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to State of NC requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) programs and systems, Oracle software, accounting, purchasing, and contracting experience;
  • Strong writing/editing skills;
  • Familiarity with nonprofit foundation work in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as part of the administrative team for analyzing, planning, implementing, developing, and interpreting procedures and policies; supervising and supporting custodial personnel.
  • Coordinates and monitors daily logistical and operational phases of Project Enlightenment.
  • Assists as directed in activities to seek, secure, develop, implement, and administer grants, contracts, and other supplemental resources that support Project Enlightenment’s annual operating costs.
  • Assists the Director, as assigned, with developing, coordinating, amending, monitoring, reporting, and auditing budgets for Project Enlightenment.
  • Oversees accounting, purchasing, and contract development as assigned by the Director.
  • Supervises custodial staff.
  • Coordinates custodial, maintenance, renovation, requests for building use, safety inspections, First Aid Response Team, licensing issues and security concerns for the Boyan Avenue facility and grounds, including but not limited to Maximo, contract custodial services, maintenance and building issues, telephones, and historic district requests and permits.
  • Promotes positive school and community relations with individuals, groups and agencies within Wake County regarding Project Enlightenment.
  • Provides additional support and services to Project Enlightenment and the district as requested.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff and staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force.
