Position Description:

We are looking for a Senior Natural Gas Designer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Columbus office. Candidates must have a high school diploma, and seven or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required. Periodic travel may be required. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule may be available after 30 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Manage, train, mentor, and develop a team of designers
• Responsible for the quality control of a larger production team
• Work with other Senior Designers and Project Manages to develop and implement process improvements.
• Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline designs, as-builts, and mechanical detail drawings
• Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD
• Generate bill of materials
• Ability to work independently
• Print working drawings using a plotter
• Create estimated time requirements for projects
• Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules
• Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis
• Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure
• Verify and organize field visit survey notes
• Assist Project Managers as needed
• Attend meetings as needed
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment

• High school diploma required

•  Seven or more years of related experience required
• Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required
• Additional experience with Microstation, Revit, CADworx, or ESRI products a plus
• Successful candidate must have a history of teaching and mentoring others
• Periodic travel may be required
