WEEKEND BARTENDER

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for maintaining the bar area and serving members and guests at the pool bar. You will also be responsible for handling point-of-sale transactions, assisting with the set-up and tear-down of pool bar, and performing safety and sanitation protocols.

DETAILED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a welcoming environment for all members and guests.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
• Assist with performing opening and closing duties.
• Assist with beverage inventory and stocking of supplies.
• Ensure all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of shift.
• Promote house drinks and utilize up-selling skills to maximize revenues.
• Learn and be versed in all menu selections.
• Be verse in all menu selections and educate members and guests about food and beverage selections.
• Handle all aspects of point-of-sale transactions.
• Promptly address any customer service issues in a professional manner and refer to management if necessary.
• Protect establishment and customers by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor.
• Follow uniform and personal appearance standards, as well as all employee standards outlined in the employee handbook(s).
• Other duties as assigned by the Magnolia’s Manager, Executive Chef, or General Manager.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Must have previous bartending experience and/or knowledge of liquor mixed drinks, beer, and wine.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Capacity to be on your feet for long hours.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, rotate, climb, stand, push, lift, grasp, and reach.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various extreme weather conditions.
• Willingness to work with or around sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or flying golf balls.
• Must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation: Base wage plus gratuities

Benefits: Employees are eligible for benefits as outlined under the employee handbook (subject to completion of specified employment periods and employment status)
