Production Technician This is an hourly union represented position. Local UE 506 Starting wage: $21.47 Position Summary: Perform various duties in the preparation and production of various locomotive parts and components. Major Responsibilities: Assembly operations Moving, installing, diagnosing, disassembling, replacing parts and reassembling of simple machines and mechanical equipment Setup and operate machines to make simple replacement parts Perform simple maintenance and repair work on machines Clean, deburr, braze and paint parts Simple electrical tests on component parts Receive, store, accumulate and move material, maintain records, make containers, wrap and pack apparatus for shipments, tool crib attendant duties Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED 3 years manufacturing experience Ability to read simple blueprints and scales Ability to understand simple math functions including decimals and fractions Ability to operate a crane and industrial truck Must be willing and able to work any shift Functional Requirements: Ability to climb repeatedly and work from heights off ladders, platforms and scaffolds Repeated bending, reaching above head, climbing and kneeling Repeated straight pulling and pushing Prolonged standing and walking Walking on slippery or uneven surfaces Exposure to constant noise 90 DBA Able to distinguish basic colors Exposure to fumes/smoke from burning, paint vapors, and dust Moderate to heavy lifting up to 45 lbs Must be willing to work in tobacco-free environment Wabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
