Qualifications Requirements

Must have a detailed knowledge of manufacturing welded steel products.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, independently, and across work disciplines (NDT, Quality, Safety, etc)
Ability to effectively communicate, gain respect, build a High Performing Team, and set an example for others.
Must be able to collect and display performance data on the floor and use it to make sound technical and personnel decisions.
Employed with W International in Production for a minimum of 12 months, earned a Welder III or Fitter III promotion, and has a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Acceptable attendance, performance and safety record - No recordables in 6 months (this means they could have prevented it by using appropriate methods or gear)

Zero no call/no shows within 6 months

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

Report directly to the Production Supervisor
Conduct Pre-Shift briefs with the Team that includes Safety issues or concerns, Quality discussions, Daily expectations, and Toolbox talks.
Assist in ensuring work area is properly set up to maximize efficiency and organization.
Manage resources in the work area to ensure that all personnel have expectations to accomplish each day.
Perform daily audits of personnel for procedural compliance.
Ensure project documents are being signed and completed properly.
Communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, both orally and written.
Minimize Production downtime by communicating any issues (material, staff, equipment, quality etc.) early and quickly and In Accordance With company policy and procedure.
Manage a Team to ensure their project area is running efficiently and in accordance with production Supervisor and General Foreman expectations.
Ensure employees are proficient operating the tools and equipment required to perform their assigned task.
Keep work area safe, clean and organized at all times.
Provide performance feedback for evaluations to Lead’s supervisor.
Maintain a respectful and professional approach to communicating with others while Leading and Motivating the Team.
Follow and enforce all company policies including safety rules and quality standards.
Manage flow of material in and out of the work cell. Provide daily requirements to Lifting and Handling and Material Processing Departments at least 24 hours in advance – including designating areas where parts are to be stored.
Mentor welders and fitters to provide for Team Lead succession planning.
Make sure all members including himself are clocked in and logged in to the correct job code
Be able to forecast other support trade needs to support product schedule.
Must have the ability to work overtime as business needs require.
Must have the willingness and drive to pursue any necessary qualifications to support product build.
Other duties as assigned by area Production Supervisor or General Foreman.
