Your role and responsibilities:

• Manufacture precious metal alloys, solders, and wires for use in Jewelry and Dental Industry.
• Cast precious metal alloys.
• Buy gold, silver, and platinum bullion, coins, and jewelry. Our associates would be working in St. Paul and assisting customers with buying, selling of bullion, precious metal alloys, solders, and wires.
• Evaluate and purchase precious metals, including jewelry and industrial scrap.
• Operate chemical batch process and equipment correctly, while meeting production goals and expectations on a consistent basis, while maintaining compliance of Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
• Must follow procedures in every detail, including safety policies.
• Must operate equipment (for example, pumps, GLV’s, filter presses, pan filters, reactors, valves, pH probes, ovens, etc) in a reasonable and self-sustaining manner.
• Responsible for understanding basic chemical reactions and properties of chemicals within the work area.

What is required for this role:

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years experience as a bench Jeweler, dental lab technician, or related field is a plus but not required.
• 1 to 3 years experience in basic chemical operations or related experience is a plus but not required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering is preferred but not required.

Able to:

• Process and follow verbal directions and written instructions.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; smell.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• May be assigned shifts that include evening, nights and/or weekend days.
• Able to successfully complete a background check, pre-placement physical exam and drug screen.

- Ability to sell and deal with dealers is great.

- Invoicing

- Help in accounting if possible

- Clean office/shop

Responsibilities:

- Buy gold and silver at the counter and mailers that come in.

- Take orders, fill the order, invoice, and ship it out.

- Work in the shop, casting gold bars, and fabricating into Dental alloy, sheet stock, and wire.

- Processing Scrap gold jobs, Smelting.

- Selling Bullion

Additional tasks - Not necessary for a new hire

- Assaying gold

- Work in the lab processing scrap jobs.

- Sell on eBay and Facebook

Hours are flexible we are open 8-4:30, M-F. What are you able to do with your schedule.

Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
