Traffic Control Tech (Rental Division)

Traffic Control Tech (Rental Division) work with construction teams to ensure that automobiles and pedestrians do not interfere with, or pose a danger to, laborers and their projects. Candidates must become certified in basic traffic safety techniques by attending a training class provided by the company. The Traffic Control Tech

(Rental Division) must create a safe work zone that ensures traffic does not cause a threat to the workers.

Traffic Control Tech (Rental Division) must constantly be aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them. Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Setup, maintain, and remove temporary and permanent work zones including warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, barricades per MUTCD, State and City Specifications
• Operate company vehicles to deliver and remove traffic control devices from jobsites
• Work independently or part of a traffic control crew
• Must be able to communicate to contractor, co-workers, and supervisors effectively and manage truck inventory and job site materials and paperwork
• Other job duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
• Have reliable communication to receive work schedule
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate varying climates of heat, cold, and rain
• Pass a drug screen prior to employment and maintain a drug free status
• The position does not allow for frequent breaks
• Be physically capable to perform all flagging duties
• Class A or B CDL license
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
• Certified through the American Traffic Safety Services Administration (ATSSA)
• Minimum 2-3 Years of traffic control experience preferred
• Must have experience reading Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP).
• Overnight travel may be required
