Title of Position: Principal Application Security Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY
Define the organization's application security strategy and provide guidance across multiple applications. Expert in securing applications and microservices in diverse environments, including cloud and hybrid platforms. Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate, test, and recommend security solutions to protect applications and data• Implement security controls, such as web application firewalls, DDoS protection, and encryption, to protect applications and data• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security risks• Respond to security incidents and provide technical guidance to incident response teams• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies• Collaborate with development teams to ensure security is integrated into the software development lifecycle• Train developers and other stakeholders on secure coding practices• Document security policies, procedures, and best practices.• Create high level architectural designs and proof of concept implementations• Maintain compliance with the knowledge requirements outlined on the department intranet site
