Vydia is seeking a full time Rights Management Coordinator to join our team immediately for an expected two year term of employment. This position will report directly to the VP of Rights and Content and be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the department. The ideal candidate will have a high-level understanding of intellectual property rights and U.S. Copyright law, interest in content management, and a self-starting attitude.

The Rights Management Department oversees all rights-related functions including, but not limited to, monetization across platforms, partner asset management, internal catalog management, agreement review, copyright claims, takedowns, publishing administration, neighboring rights, and synchronization licensing.

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of YouTube’s Content Management System (CMS) ToDo queue, including reviewing references, claims, and assets
• Day-to-day management of Vydia’s linked channels, including monetization strategy, metadata updates, and ad display strategy
• Updating asset metadata both within partner platforms like YouTube’s CMS and Meta’s Rights Manager and natively in the Vydia platform
• Making manual claims based both on Video Claim Submissions and Label & Artist Relations requests
• Researching ownership conflicts and subsequently reaching out to third parties and our users to resolve
• Addressing “on-call” actions required by internal and external teams as necessary
• Day-to-day Management of any other content management systems available
• Executing any user or content offboarding actions
• Addressing takedowns and potential rights issues
• General asset management, including metadata matching, researching work codes, and identifying duplicates
• Researching unclaimed works and writers for potential agreement opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience in the music or entertainment industries
• Prior experience manipulating and organizing large data sets
• Deep understanding of the U.S. Copyright landscape and general intellectual property rights
• Prior experience using YouTube’s CMS, Meta’s Rights Manager, or any other rights-related content management system is a plus
• Prior experience with CWR and manual registration methods for the U.S. P.R.O.’s or mechanical societies a plus
• Understanding of the intricacies of the ex-U.S. music industry a plus
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to adapt to working under constantly changing priorities
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required to optimize interactions both internally and externally
• A critical eye when reviewing current processes
