Summary
The IT Administrator position supports and manages the IT function including helpdesk, system administration, hardware and software support with focus on protecting against external threats.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Leads IT projects while managing timeline and budget.
· Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
· Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on users’ premises.
· Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
· Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
· Assists in training and adoption of systems and processes.
· Provides helpdesk services to end users and manage through SLAs and metrics.
· Coordinates activities with vendors, licensing, support, and implementation of systems.
· Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
· Refers major problems to service personnel for correction.
· Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications.
· Administers all IT systems.
· Manages company backups, incident response activities, and disaster recovery activities.
· Assists in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies.
· Supports ERP solution including determining ERP needs and integrating ERP technologies with existing systems.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
· Requires an Associate degree in computer related field plus two years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science or related discipline; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
· 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Skills
· Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users.
· Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment.
· Requires experience with personal computer equipment. Must have advanced personal computer word processing, spreadsheet, database, command line and Windows skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
· High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows administration.
· Experience working with multiple locations/operations.
· Basic understanding of best practices for IT security.
· Prefer experience managing virtual machines in the cloud.
· Prefer experience implementing ERP systems.
· Prefer a working understanding of the organization and individual department operations, goals, and objectives.
· Prefer knowledge of how to assemble and disassemble personal computer components, including cabling.
