The School of Nursing and Health & Exercise Sciences at Vermont State University invites applications for a Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in the Respiratory Therapy Department. The successful candidate would start in Fall 2024 (August).

Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. This position is based on our Williston Campus.

Responsibilities:

·Conduct engaging and informative lectures and labs that focus on respiratory therapy, including topics such as oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, airway clearance therapy, and airway management techniques.

·Explore the clinical effects of different respiratory therapy approaches.

·Discuss Respiratory Care plans and foster interprofessional education among participants.

·Ensure that the latest advancements and trends in respiratory care are provided using current and appropriate pedagogy and lab facilities.

·Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation using a team-based learning approach.

Qualifications: 

·Bachelor's degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or a related field. 

·Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), current state license, a minimum of four years as a RRT, and two years in clinical respiratory care.

·Two years of teaching experience.

·Excellent communication and presentation skills.

·Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.

·Commitment to working with a small team of educators to deliver the course content.

Salary: 
Based on qualifications and experience as defined by VSC-VSCFF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
