VTG is seeking a Proposals Technical Writerlocated in Virginia Beach, VA.

The Proposals Technical Writer writes and edits complex material for customer reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, working primarily for Federal customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Write, review and edit materials for customer proposals, primarily for the US Government DOD, including:o Technical, management and past performance proposalso White paperso Requirements and other technical documentationo Upcoming contract proposals and bids including IDIQ type contracts.* Work product will focus on compliance, messaging, and completeness* Work closely with proposal writers and volume managers on grammar and formatting* Adhere to applicable business development processes and procedures, including tools and * document archiving and management, in the execution of the proposal process* Assist in establishing and implementing publishing standards compliance* Retrieves and analyzes project and program historical information from various sources to support statement of work (SOW), work breakdown structure (WBS), and estimate development. Analyzes estimates to ensure basis of estimate is documented, and when compared against historical data, ensures differences are identified, investigated, explained, and documented.* May prepare various supporting analyses for projects and programs to measure effectiveness; track and escalate action items, monitors project delivery and client satisfaction, and communicates with all appropriate levels within the organization and appropriate external parties.* Supports program and project management/project controls functions a division(s); may do so by assisting with activities such as planning requirements, analysis and design, technical reviews, integration, implementation, operations turnover, and project closing; may assist with scheduling, execution, budgeting, monitoring/controlling, and analyzing risks.* Interpret statements of work (SOW), work breakdown structure (WBS), and estimate development

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field, plus six (6) years' experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Mathematical Skills:

• Intermediate - high: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of algebra, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry; calculate formulae, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Computer Skills:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and finance and accounting software such as CostPoint. Position requires knowledge of enterprise resources planning systems and techniques; working knowledge of network and operating systems, server technologies and programs such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Earned Value Management, Microsoft SQL, and Visual Basic.
