Responsible for interior maintenance and repair on Commercial Aircraft Types.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Ability to comprehend and acquire skills in the following: Proper use of safety equipment, use of drill motor and drill, use of rivet gun and set, remove and reinstall interior panels, insulation, floor panels, door thresholds, cockpit seats, cabin seats, overhead bins, cabin window shades, original carpet, original moonwalk, door slides and covers, life rafts, non-skid material, stewardess seat, air grills, seat covers, DADO panels and Mylar, install emergency equipment, dump lavatory, service lavatory, fill potable water, disinfect lavatory, clean interior of aircraft, Operation of Reader Printer, General Knowledge of ATA codes and F.A.R.’s and company policies and procedures, General knowledge of all paperwork procedures including job cards/time cards, routine/ non-routine cards, AMM’s, S.R.M.’s, service bulletins and work sign-off/sell-off procedures.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Frequently required to work inside the hangar where conditions are generally favorable with adequate lighting and temperature. Occasionally required to work outside where, according to the season will have exposure to extreme heat or cold, or light rain. Frequently required to climb stairs, ladders or scaffolding and work on uneven surfaces inside and on the aircraft.
SUPERVISION:
Under immediate direction. Normally performs duties after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. Little room for deviation. Supervisor/Lead may provide close and constant review while work is under way and when the assignment is completed.
INTERPERSONAL RELATION:
A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision. Team player mentality is required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved. Working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and report to work regularly.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
A&P License desired or any related training.
EXPERIENCE:
(1) year of comprehensive mechanical experience or an equivalent of specialized classroom training from an accredited aviation trade school is preferred, but not required.
