JD The ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in database administration with Cassandra databases in an enterprise environment.Bachelor's degree in Computer science or Information Systems with a minimum of 3 years in Mongo, Dynamo, and Cassandra databases. Ability to create and maintain new databases, modify existing DBs to add or remove nodes, modify configurations, and create database backups. Prior experience with database migrations. Ability to interpret database metrics and recommend improvements. Experience managing databases in private data centers as well as in AWS/Google Cloud Platform Cloud Responsibilities: The Database Admin is responsible for day-to-day operations and executing key initiatives for IT Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Databases: Cassandra, Couch base, Dynamo Proactively monitor production databases for HA/DR, Security, and Performance Participate in on-call support on a rotation basis
Provide DBA support for Enterprise Releases and Infrastructure Projects Automate tasks using a combination of tools such as SQL, Shell Scripts, awk, JavaScript, etc Follow established standards and extend them when/where applicable Apply requested changes, updates, and modifications to database structure and data. Ensure the security, availability, and stability of the databases
